Research interests
One of the great challenges addressed by the geological sciences has been understanding the long-term evolution of mountain ranges. I work towards a quantitative understanding of how interactions between tectonic, erosional, and climatic processes influence topography, erosion and deformation in active tectonic settings. In my research, I develop testable predictions of orogen behavior using numerical and analytical models of tectonic deformation and surface erosion and test these predictions with inverse models that incorporate topographic and thermochronometric data.
