Compressional wave velocity is mapped using travel time inversion of data from
controlled explosions. The image above shows lateral distribution of velocity
in the shallow (1 - 5 km) crust of the region.
Note: a low velocity feature in the lower left part of the figure is unreliable
due to inadequate ray coverage.
